Timetex Hermedia takes over HCM Kinzel
Lower Bavarian Timetex Hermedia Verlag GmbH has taken over the games publisher HCM Kinzel. The HCM Kinzel brand is to be continued under the Timetex umbrella.
Timetex is based in Riedenburg and, according to its own information, is one of the leading providers of teacher and school supplies. The family-run company wants to use HCM Kinzel’s expertise and customer base to further expand its international B2B business.
HCM Kinzel filed for insolvency in May 2025 and ceased operational business activities. Timetex is now taking over stock, customer data, products, brands and domains. The previous company headquarters in Zaberfeld, Swabia, will be closed. The former HCM Kinzel owners, Markus and Christian Kinzel, will remain with the publisher. They are to support the further development of the brand under new management.
Next Station London with Pegasus since September
Markus Kinzel says: “We have found a financially strong partner and, as a family, will continue and develop the HCM Kinzel range unchanged under the Timetex umbrella. New projects planned in the field of brain and logic games, such as games in the Braingame series, can now be implemented step by step.”
Timetex distributes its products in 13 European countries. As many HCM Kinzel games are distinguished by educational aspects, Timetex views the takeover as an extension of its own range.
HCM Kinzel was founded in 1993 and offered educational and creative toys, puzzles and family games. Since 2015, the publisher has also released its own games, including Next Station London by Matthew Dunstan. The game was nominated for Spiel des Jahres in 2023. The rights to Next Station London and other games in the series have been with Pegasus Spiele since September 2025.
